Group Visit Statement of Expectations


    GROUP VISIT STATEMENT OF EXPECTATIONS

    By requesting a group visit, all group visit coordinators agree to the following expectations and guidelines.

    FITCHBURG STATE UNIVERSITY WILL:

    • Deliver a world-class educational experience for you and your students.
    • Customize your visit to reflect your students’ academic interests whenever possible*.
    • Furnish an itinerary confirmation and a campus map via email at least one week in advance of your visit to campus.
    • Provide access to online registration for individual students in your group.

    GROUP LEADERS ARE EXPECTED TO:

    • Request campus tour dates at least three weeks in advance.
    • Confirm the number of students attending and your time of arrival one week prior to your visit. 
    • Inform the Visit Coordinator of any special needs or accommodations when requesting your visit date.
    • Review the itinerary confirmation and map prior to the day of your visit.
    • Enable and encourage individual students to complete their online registration.
    • Supervise your students during your visit. Our professional staff and tour guides rely on you to ensure your students are respectful, attentive, and responsible during their time on campus.
    • Arrive on time for your visit; even a 15 minute delay can disrupt your planned activities. Check-in time will be listed on your itinerary confirmation. Be sure to allow enough time for unexpected travel stops, parking your vehicle(s), and walking to the check-in location.
    GROUP VISIT DATE RESTRICTIONS
    • During the academic year, group visits are offered based on our Tour Guide schedule. For the Fall semester we are offering visits on Mondays and Fridays only.
    • Spring semester visits are available February 1st through April 30th.
     ** Please note that visit days for spring visits has not be made. Please check again on December 8th for an updated visit schedule*
     

    ADDITIONAL GROUP VISIT GUIDELINES

    • A minimum of 1 chaperone for every 15 students is required for all groups.
    • Groups larger than 40 students cannot be accommodated as part of the Group Visit Program. 
    • In order to best serve our guests, only one group may be accommodated on campus per day.
    • We are unable to offer complimentary lunch to groups visiting campus. If your group will be requesting lunch accommodations, information regarding cost and payment will be sent after your visit has been approved.
    *Please note that Admissions cannot guarantee the availability of specific academic departments/offices during your visit time. Reasonable accommodations will be made for groups requesting tours of specific academic departments or student support offices.
